Hong Kong broadcaster Asia Television has appointed telecom execs Linus Cheung as its new executive chairman and Ricky Wong as its CEO to take charge of efforts to reshape its free-to-air and digital channels. ATV saw a major shift in shareholders in 2007 and has lost more than HK$5 billion since the 1980s.
Smithsonian Channel announced a new series, "Aerial America," that will give an HD "bird's-eye view" of the 50 states. The channel is co-producing the series with Skyworks. Each state will be profiled in the hourlong episodes.

Howard TV on Demand has been documenting comedian Artie Lange as he traveled the country to promote his autobiography, "Too Fat to Fish," for a special airing Dec. 18. Featured in the show are Howard Stern and other cast members, guests Seth Green and Lisa Lampanelli and Stern's show writer Benjy Bronk (appearing as Lange in street sketches).
