Jim Fredrick has joined Screen Gems as executive vp marketing and will oversee all aspects of marketing, including creative advertising and publicity, for the specialty film banner. He was senior vp creative advertising at Warner Bros., where he supervised the creation of more than 80 advertising campaigns.
'WALL-E' TOPS TIME
Disney/Pixar's "WALL-E" led Time magazine's list of the top 10 films of the year, compiled by critic Richard Corliss. Arguably the most unexpected title to appear on the list was the Wachowskis' "Speed Racer," which logged in at No. 9.

The 11th annual Method Fest independent film festival, slated for March 26-April 2 in Calabasas, Calif., is expanding its youth education program to students in grades 6-12 who live in Los Angeles and Ventura counties. The fest's youth program will include short film and screenplay competitions.
