Italian director Gianni Amelio is expected to take the reins as head of the Turin Film Festival following the exit of preivous artistic director Nanni Moretti after two years in the hot seat. Amelio is a well-known auteur in Italy with several movies under his belt, including "Open Doors," "Stolen Children" and 1998 Venice Golden Lion winner "The Way We Laughed." Turin organizers acted swiftly to fill the void left after Moretti stepped down last week saying he needed to focus on a film project.

MOGET AT PAR FRANCE

Frederic Moget, who heads the marketing division of 20th Century Fox France, has been named managing director of Paramount Pictures France. Steve Summersby will continue as acting managing director of the PPF operation until Moget assumes his new role.

INDIAN FEST SETS NODS

The seventh annual Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles will present Richard Fox, executive vp of Warner Bros. International, and Amit Khanna, chairman of Reliance BIG Entertainment, with its IFFLA Industry Leadership Awards at the IFFLA Industry Leadership Award Luncheon on April 24 at the House of Blues in West Hollywood.
