FOOTE NOTES FOR SODERBERGH

Steven Soderbergh will receive the Horton Foote Award for outstanding screenwriting at the annual Natchez Literary and Cinema Celebration in Natchez, Miss. Soderbergh, whose two-part Che Guevara epic "Che" recently bowed in limited release, will be feted Feb. 21. Award committee chair Gerald McRaney said the Horton Foote laurels honor a screenwriter for an outstanding body of work.

'HEROIC' GORDON

British actress Lucy Gordon has joined the cast of the Universal Pictures International Studio-backed French language movie about the rise to fame of Serge Gainsbourg. Gordon will play Jane Birkin in the project, tentatively titled "Heroic Life." The project is scheduled to shoot in France and England next month. 'MAMMA' MADNESS

"Mamma Mia!" sold more than $30 million in DVDs and Blue-ray Discs in its first day of home-entertainment release. Universal said 2.25 million units of the musical jumped off store shelves Dec. 16. "Mamma" has grossed $572 million in worldwide theatrical coin.
