'WALL-E' FRESHEST

The animated "WALL-E" and the documentary "Man on Wire" were the best-reviewed films of 2008, according to RottenTomatoes.com. The "WALL-E" win is the fifth time a Pixar release has been named best wide-release film of the year by the site. The thriller "One Missed Call" got hit with the Moldy Tomato Award as worst-reviewed film.

MITCHELL WITH 'CRAZIES'

Radha Mitchell will star opposite Timothy Olyphant in "The Crazies," Overture Films/ Participant Prods.' reinvention of the 1973 George A. Romero film. Mitchell will play Olyphant's wife as they battle a toxin that has infected their town's water supply. Breck Eisner will direct from a screenplay by Ray Wright, working from an earlier draft by Scott Kosar.

CHRIQUI COUNTS ON '13'

Emmanuelle Chriqui (HBO's "Entourage") is joining the cast of Gela Babluani's "13," a remake of the French thriller "13 (Tzameti)." Michael Shannon, Ben Gazzara and Alex Skarsgard have also recently been added to the cast, which includes Mickey Rourke and Jason Statham.

KEARNEY KICKS OFF

New Wave Entertainment, Tri Destined Films and Blumhouse Prods. are teaming to bring to the screen the story of University of Texas track and field coach Beverly "Bev" Kearney. Kearney was injured in a car accident in 2002 but continued coaching while teaching herself to walk again.
