APA has signed Clayton Frohman, who most recently penned "Defiance" with director Ed Zwick, and Charles Martin Smith, writer-director of "Stone of Destiny." Frohman also co-wrote the feature "Under Fire." Smith, also an actor, directed "Air Bud" and "The Snow Walker."

Willis to fight back

An attorney for Bruce Willis said a lawsuit against his client alleging breach of contract is without merit. Attorney Marty Singer said Monday that three production companies suing Willis, alleging he failed to fulfill contractual duties on the proposed film "Three Stories About Joan," didn't fulfill their own responsibilities, and that Willis will file his own action soon.

Two cheers for Boyle

The Art Directors Guild Film Society and the American Cinematheque will pay tribute to production designer Robert Boyle, who celebrates his 100th birthday in October, with screenings of 1941's "The Wolf Man" and 1969's "Gaily, Gaily" on March 29 at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood.



'Fly' lands at LABFF

Zelito Viana's "A Beautiful Night to Fly" will serve as the opening-night film of the Los Angeles Brazilian Film Festival on March 12 at the Landmark Theatre in Los Angeles. The fest closes March 15 with Hugo Carvana's "Golden Oldies."
