'YENTL' BACK ON SCREEN

Barbra Streisand's "Yentl" will be the first film screened in the new series "Films That Changed the World," designed to celebrate the socially conscious filmmaking associated with the late producer-director Stanley Kramer. The film will play April 18 at the Stanley Kramer Theatre on the Sunset Gower lot in Hollywood.

FIRTH LACES UP

Figure skater Taylor Firth will star in Donald Wrye's remake of 1978's "Ice Castles," which has begun filming in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Olympic medalist Michelle Kwan will appear in a cameo in the film, produced by Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions Group's Stage 6 Films in association with Jaffe/Braunstein Entertainment and Magic Rock Prods.

'Maid' CLEANS UP

Sebastian Silva's "The Maid" was named best narrative film at the 11th annual Sarasota Film Festival, which handed out awards Saturday in Sarasota, Fla. Ben Steinbauer's "Winnebago Man" took the prize for documentary feature.
