Hugh Jackman will place his hand and footprints in the forecourt of Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Jackman's next film, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine," opens May 1.
Actor Scott Wilson will be honored with the Los Angeles Polish Film Festival's Pola Negri Award on Wednesday during the festival's opening-night gala at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood. Fest director Vladek Juskiewicz will present the award, citing Wilson for working with Polish director Krzystof Zanussi on "The Year of the Quiet Sun" and "Our God's Brother."
Regent Releasing and Here Media have acquired North American distribution rights to Robert Young's docudrama "Eichmann" from U.K.- based production outfit Entertainment Motion Pictures. An October theatrical release is planned.
CANNES PICKS PRODs
European Film Promotion has picked this year's crop of up-and-coming European producers for the 10th edition of its Producers on the Move initiative, which takes place at next month's Festival de Cannes. The 23 aspiring talents include Janine Jackowski of Germany's Komplizen Film ("Everyone Else") and Adrian Sturges of the U.K.'s Picture Farm ("The Escapist"). A full list is available at THR.com.
