MLB Network Analyst Darryl Hamilton Found Dead in Apparent Murder-Suicide
Hamilton was one of two victims in a shooting that took place in Houston on Sunday afternoon.
MLB network analyst and former Mets outfielder Darryl Hamilton was found dead in Houston on Sunday in an apparent murder-suicide. He was 50.
Hamilton's body was discovered near the front entryway of a home when police arrived on the scene in response to a disturbance call around 4:45 p.m., according to the Houston Chronicle. Investigators announced that Hamilton had been shot more than once. His girlfriend, Monica Jordan, 44, was found in another area of the home, where she apparently died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The couple's 14-month-old child was also found unharmed at the scene and has been turned over to Texas Child Protective Services.
Hamilton retired from playing for the Mets in 2001 and had been working as an analyst for MLB Network.
