'Modern Family's' Danny Zuker Inks New Overall Deal at 20th TV
Danny Zuker is staying put at 20th Century Fox TV.
The Modern Family executive producer has inked a new three-year overall deal with the studio behind the long-running ABC comedy. As part of the new pact, he will continue to work on Modern as well as develop new TV projects for both broadcast and cable.
"Danny is someone every showrunner and network wants to work with. He's been at Chris [Lloyd] and Steve [Levitan]'s side since the first season and plays an incredibly important role," noted 20th Century Fox TV chairman and CEO Gary Newman, adding: "He's wickedly funny and his scripts are always as relatable as they are hilarious. It goes without saying that Modern Family is one of this studio's most important series, so keeping Danny on this brilliant show as well as allowing him to develop is a tremendous opportunity for us."
Zuker has a particularly long history with Levitan, with whom he worked on Stacked and Just Shoot Me. Other Zuker credits include The Arsenio Hall Show, Roseanne and Grace Under Fire. The prolific writer has garnered a sizable personal following in recent years, thanks to a widely read, and often colorful, Twitter feed, which included a public feud with Donald Trump.
He is repped by CAA and attorney Jeanne Newman of Hansen Jacobson.
