Warner Bros.-owned Telepictures Prods. has promoted Bob Mohler to executive in charge of new-media initiatives, the company said Wednesday.

Mohler will head the operation of Telepictures' digital endeavors, collaborating closely with the programming team and show producers of Warner Bros. Television Group on the development of online formats, Web integration, advertising and new technologies for existing TV properties.

Mohler was Telepictures' executive director of new media while serving as supervising producer and director of operations at TMZ.com. Before that, he was the company's director of new media, a position in which he was responsible for producing TV Web sites for "Extra," "ElimiDate" and "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," among others. He began at Telepictures in 2000.

"Bob has been on the ground floor for the last 18 months with the TMZ team and has been instrumental in making it the No. 1 entertainment news destination on the Web," Telepictures Prods. president Hilary Estey McLoughlin said. "He is one of the most savvy and knowledgeable executives in the new-media world."

Telepictures Prods. is a producer of programming for syndication and is a division of Warner Bros. Television Group.
