Regal sets $2 dividend

Movie theater operator Regal Entertainment Group on Monday declared an extraordinary dividend of $2. The company will pay the dividend April 13 to shareholders of record March 28. Regal said it will fund the special dividend from part of the estimated $445 million in proceeds it received in connection with National CineMedia's recent initial public offering. It said it will continue to evaluate other uses for the rest of the proceeds, including potential acquisition opportunities.

Endemol COO resigns

The COO for TV production company Endemol NV has resigned, the company said Monday without citing a specific reason. "Endemol and Tom Barnicoat have mutually agreed that Mr. Barnicoat will step down with immediate effect," the firm said. He will receive a severance package of £2.6 million ($5.1 million) in addition to his pension and stock options. Endemol, best known for creating the "Big Brother" reality TV format, is controlled by Spain's Telefonica SA.



TiVo renews ad pact

TiVo Inc. said Monday that it has renewed a multimillion-dollar advertising agreement with advertising conglomerate Interpublic Group of Companies Inc. Financial details were not disclosed.
