Four join anchor crew at FBN

The upcoming Fox Business Network on Tuesday named Peter Barnes, Jenna Lee, Nicole Petallides and Cody Willard as anchors. Barnes joins from his position as Washington bureau chief at Hearst-Argyle. Lee was a news anchor and reporter at Forbes.com. Petallides joins from Bloomberg Television where she was an anchor for Bloomberg Business Report and Bloomberg Market Update. Willard writes a monthly investment column for the Financial Times and appeared regularly on CNBC's "Kudlow & Company." They join previous new hires David Asman, Dagen McDowell, Cheryl Casone, Stuart Varney and Rebecca Gomez.

Navis goes Beyond with offer

Australian TV production and distribution house Beyond International is accepting a takeover offer from Navis Media, a subsidiary of Hong Kong-based private-equity firm Navis Capital Partners, the companies said Tuesday. The offer of AUS$1.22 ($1.01) per share values the producer of programs like "Mythbusters" at AUS$74.6 million, topping an AUS$68 million bid made Friday by Australian fund manager Mariner Financial. Beyond said that the offer represents a 46% premium to the 12-month volume weighted average price of AUS$0.85 per share.



Music, games mixed in Holland

As sales of DVDs and computer games in the Netherlands enjoy continued growth, music is experiencing a slump, according to first-half figures published by industry body the NVPI. Compared with the same period in 2006, DVD sales in Holland rose €3.5 million ($4.9 million) to a total of €149.1 million ($206.9 million), a 2.4% jump. Sales of computer games rose 15.5% from €96 million to €112 million ($155.4 million). Music albums, singles and videos fell 10.1%, 34.6% and 20.5%, respectively, during the period.
