Mongrel Media Takes Canadian Rights to Nicole Kidman Starrer 'Grace of Monaco'
The biopic about the legendary Hollywood actress turned princess will open Cannes Film Festival.
TORONTO – Canadian distributor Mongrel Media has picked up the Canadian rights to Olivier Dahan’s Grace of Monaco, which is set to open the Cannes Film Festival.
Mongrel will release the biopic in English-speaking Canada, with Metropole Films on board to handle the Quebec rollout.
The film stars Nicole Kidman as the legendary Hollywood actress turned princess and Tim Roth as Prince Rainier. The Cannes opener also stars Frank Langella, Parker Posey, Jeanne Balibar, Derek Jacobi and Paz Vega, who plays singer Maria Callas.
The film is produced by Pierre-Ange Le Pogam, Uday Chopra and screenwriter Arash Amel under the Stone Angels and YRF Entertainment banners.
The Weinstein Co. is releasing Grace of Monaco in the U.S. market.
