Small Screen Stars Head to Monaco for 52nd Annual Monte-Carlo TV Festival
Eva Longoria, Dr. Oz and Ted Danson are among the talents expected for the Riviera rendez-vous.
Small screen stars including Eva Longoria, Dr. Oz and Ted Danson will get a royal welcome as the 52nd annual Monte-Carlo TV Festival gets underway this week.
The Monegasque festival kicked off on Sunday night with Dignity, BFC Productions and France Televisions’ story of Senegalese railway workers on strike.
Longoria, Oz and Danson will join Revenge stars Emily Van Camp, Madeleine Stowe and Joshua Bowman, Castle star Nathan Fillion, CSI: Miami’s Eva LaRue and other TV talents from both the U.S. and France for the five-day event on the French Riviera.

Dr Oz, who like the festival, turns 52 on June 11th, will prescribe a “healthy lunch” for journalists on June 13th. Festival favorite and Honorary Consul general of Monaco Dick Wolf will join actors from Law & Order: Special Victims Unit to present two episodes from the show’s new season. Orange Cinema Series will give HBO’s Veep VIP treatment with a screening and visit from the show’s creator Armando Ianucci.
Canal Plus will launch Homeland and The Bold & The Beautiful will fete its 25th anniversary at the festival complete with autograph-signing sessions with cast. TMC will screen the first episode of the second season of Downton Abbey. Rosanna Arquette will preside over the TV films jury and screenwriter and producer Josh Schwartz has been named President of the TV Series jury.
The fest will wrap on June 14h with the traditional Golden Nymph awards ceremony featuring Disney’s Anne Sweeney, who will receive a Golden Nymph of Honor from His Royal Highness Prince Albert of Monaco himself.
The Monte-Carlo TV Festival runs June 10 – 14.
