'Mr. Robot' Creator Sam Esmail Moves to CAA
The writer behind USA's hacker drama was previously with ICM.
Mr. Robot creator Sam Esmail has signed with CAA, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Esmail has enjoyed a breakout year thanks to the debut of his provocative hacker drama, which earned a season-two renewal hours ahead of its series premiere. That same day, Esmail signed a lucrative seven-figure overall deal with Universal Cable Productions, which produces Mr. Robot.
The series is Esmail's first, and he also made his TV directing debut on the first season.
The writer and director, whose credits also include the indie Comet, was previously with ICM, which helped with Esmail's deal for Mr. Robot as well as his overall agreement. Esmail's fiancee, actress Emmy Rossum, also recently left ICM.
Esmail continues to be managed by Chad Hamilton at Anonymous Content and his attorney is Jeff Frankel.
