MTV Nets grabs seven for Latin America

MEXICO CITY -- MTV Networks on Thursday said it acquired seven new programs at NATPE for its MTV, Nickelodeon and VH1 brands in Latin America.

For MTV Latin America, the network bought the stunt-driven Finnish reality show "The Dudesons" and the award-winning animated series "Aargh! It's the Mr. Hell Show." Both were acquired from London-based Target Entertainment.

Nickelodeon Latin America picked up CC1's animated series "Frankenstein's Cat" along with "Karku," a teen telenovela produced by Chile's TVN network.

As for VH1, Viacom-owned MTV Networks Latin America acquired British drama series "The Secret Diary of a Call Girl" from Tiger Aspect Prods., documentary "The Seven Ages of Rock" from the BBC, and reality show "America's Most Smartest Model" from Target Entertainment.

From VH1's "Movies that Rock" lineup, it purchased "The 40-Year-Old Virgin" and "Ray" from NBC Universal.
