MTV seals int'l sales deals on 'Penguins'
DreamWorks Animation-produced animated seriesCANNES -- MTV Networks International has closed more than 40 sales deals for Nickelodeon's Number one rated CG animated series "The Penguins of Madagascar," it was announced Monday.
The DreamWorks Animation-produced animated series is based on the much-loved Penguin characters from the "Madagascar" franchise, which grossed more than $1.1 billion in global boxoffice.
The deal was announced by MTVNI evp Steve Grieder, who said that the long-term project between Nickeoldeon and Dreamworks Animation had paid off.
"As the most-watched premiere ever in Nickelodeon history, we knew immediately that we had a hit show on our hands and I'm really thrilled to be extending the magic, through our international broadcast partners, to kids and animation lovers everywhere around the world."
