MTV VMAs: Katy Perry, Jason Derulo Voice Support for Obamacare
The two singers took to Twitter to announce support for the president's healthcare initiative.
Katy Perry, who performed the closing number at this year's MTV Video Music Awards, and Jason Derulo took to Twitter during the preshow to voice their support for Obamacare.
Perry retweeted an Obama tweet stating: "If you're one of millions of young Americans w/out health insurance, you can get affordable coverage starting Oct. 1."
Obama responded: "Thanks for spreading the word. #ROAR."
Derulo tweeted: "2night the #VMA’s... who can tell me what's dropping Oct 1? Hint: go 2 healthcare.gov."
Obama retweeted Derulo, with a caveat: "Tattoos not included."
Derulo recently attended a White House meeting with entertainment industry people to discuss ways to get involved in the rollout of Obamacare in October. Perry was one of Obama's strongest celebrity supporters on the campaign trail in 2012.
