MTVU Explores the Lives of Deaf College Students on 'Quiet Campus' (Exclusive Video)
The reality series follows four young people at Washington D.C.’s Gallaudet University.
mtvU, MTV’s college network, has produced a new short form reality series that sheds light on the experience of being a deaf college student called Quiet Campus. The series premieres on Oct. 24.
It follows four students who attend Washington D.C.’s Gallaudet University, which is well known as a leading institution for the liberal education of deaf and hard of hearing students.
“Quiet Campus shines a spotlight on the hopes and dreams of these truly amazing young people as they experience the ups and downs of college life,” says mtvU's Programming SVP and Head of Development Paul Ricci. “And we believe that it will forever change the way our audience understands what it means to be deaf.”
In The Hollywood Reporter’s exclusive sneak peek above, you’ll meet Clayton and Taylor. Clayton is a sophomore who has had troubles connecting with others until he came to Gallaudet. He’s getting closer to fellow sophomore Taylor, who was born with hearing but lost it after receiving chemo therapy treatments.
The series is executive produced by Eric Conte and Paul Ricci with producer Ryan Ling for mtvU.
MTVu is available at more than 1400 college communities nationwide, reaching nearly nine-million U.S. college students. For more information, visit the mtvU website.
