Mulberry Appoints Thierry Andretta as New CEO

The British luxury brand took one year to fill the role.

British luxury accessories brand Mulberry has ended its yearlong search for a new CEO with the appointment of Thierry Andretta.

Andretta, who has been serving as one of the brand’s independent nonexecutive directors, joins the Somerset, England-based brand after holding positions at notable brands including Lanvin, LVMH, Celine and The Gucci Group, and most recently, as the CEO of luxury Italian jewelry line Buccellati. He steps into his new role on April 7.

He replaces former Hermes executive Bruno Guillon, who stepped down in March last year after the brand saw sales tumble.

Andretta isn’t the only new face at the brand: In November, it was announced that Johnny Coca, head of accessories at Celine, will take over the reins as creative director of the brand this summer. He replaces Emma Hill, who departed in summer 2013.
