CAPITOL GAINS

A day after its "Viva la Vida" album hit stores, Coldplay claims its first No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 today with the title track. Capitol Records has even more reason to celebrate as the label's Katy Perry moves to No. 2 with "I Kissed a Girl." It's the first time Capitol has held the top two slots since September 1967 with the 1-2 punch of Bobbie Gentry's "Ode to Billie Joe" and the Beatles' "All You Need Is Love."

DISNEY's WORLD

The "High School Musical" phenomenon has entered the record books again. More than 6 million combined physical and digital copies of "High School Musical 2" (Walt Disney Records) were shifted worldwide last year, making it the best-selling album of 2007, according to the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry. Its predecessor, "High School Musical," was the world's best-selling album in 2006.

Don't cry, uri

Celebrity psychic Uri Geller and two partners have lost a federal lawsuit claiming that the former owners of Elvis Presley's pre-Graceland house breached an eBay contract to sell the Memphis home. Geller and his partners bid $905,100 for the home in a 2006 auction, but the deal fell apart. On Tuesday, U.S. District Judge Jon McCalla ruled that the eBay auction was more of an advertising vehicle than a binding sale.
