Fest's project market starts July 19

SEOUL -- The 13th Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival opened Thursday at Bucheon Citizen's Hall with "MW," a film by Hitoshi Iwamoto based on a Japanese manga.

Almost 1500 people attended the opening ceremony with guests including directors Jonathan King, Tom Shankland and Christina von Greve.

This year's festival brings together 202 films from 41 countries. Celebrating 13th year, the festival presents special screenings of horror films including an entire sequel of "Memento Mori," a series of Korean horror films set in girl's high school.

Puchon also runs a project market starting July 19 through July 23, featuring a lineup of 19 films including "Numeric Love," a Japan-Korea coproduction from Nakano Hiroyuki and "The Arsonists" by Han Jun Won.
