MyNetwork TV Adds 'House' to Fall Schedule
Fox’s other primetime service also adds "Numb3rs" and "White Collar" to a schedule which remains heavy on police procedurals.
News Corp. and Fox’s other broadcast service, MyNetwork TV, is adding the off-network shows House, Numb3rs and White Collar to its schedule beginning this fall, according to an announcement Monday by Paul Franklin, the service’s executive vp.
The new shows join a nightly two-hour block in primetime that is mostly filled with police and detective procedural shows. From last season Law & Order SVU returns on Monday nights and Monk on Friday nights with back to back episodes.
“Viewers continue to positively respond to MyNetworkTV’s nightly block of procedural programming.,” said Franklin in a statement.
According to the announcement, “MyNetworkTVcurrently ranks #6 in HHs and #8 in A18-49 and A25-54 among all broadcast and cable networks. Season-to-date, MyNetworkTV is averaging a 1.7 HH rating and 2.5 million total viewers; rising in the recent May Sweeps +7% (HH) over year ago.”
The network which reaches about 97 percent of all American TV homes said that Law & Order: SVU grew 10 percent in households (from a 2 rating to 2.2) and 6 percent in total viewers (from 3.1 million to 3.2 million). Monk, according to the network, has grown 6 percent in households (1.7 vs. 1.6) and 4 percent in total viewers (2.6 million vs. 2.5 million) during its second season on the broadcaster.
On the air since 2006 after the The WB network and UPN folded (with some stations switching to The CW Network and others to MyNetwork TV), since 2009 it has programmed off-network syndicated shows. It is overseen by the same group within Fox that runs the Fox News Channel, and the Fox station group under the direction of Roger Ailes.
It is seen on KCOP Channel 13 in Los Angeles, WWOR Channel 9 in New York and about 170 other U..S. TV outlets.
House, about a cranky doctor (played by Hugh Laurie), just ended an eight-season run on the Fox network, and has already been playing on cable outlets. It has won five Emmys and is produced by NBC Universal.
Numb3rs,about an unusual group of FBI agents, ran on CBS from 2005 until 2010. It was produced by Ridley and Tony Scott.
White Collaris a basic cable TV series that continues to air on USA Network, where it begins its fourth season July 10. It is a production of Fox Television Studios.
