Napoli earns promotion at Col TriStar

Stefanie Napoli has been upped to executive vp media at the Columbia TriStar Motion Picture Group.

The seven-year veteran of the studio will continue to manage all media planning and buying for Columbia, Screen Gems and TriStar theatrical releases. In addition, she will handle theatrical marketing integration and promotions with media outlets, including network, cable and local television properties.

Valerie Van Galder, president of marketing at the studio, lauded Napoli as someone who "always looked for strategic ways to take programming to the next level." She added, "Under her guidance, innovative and original media concepts are developed to cut through the clutter, and they stand alone to become memorable components of our campaigns."

Some of Napoli's recent integrated media partnerships and promotions include "Spider-Man 3," for which she orchestrated two partnerships, one with NBC's "Heroes" directing viewers to watch a scene from the film at NBC.com and another with Viacom for the "Spider-Man 3" trailer launch. She also worked on integrated partnerships tied to "The Da Vinci Code" and "Memoirs of a Geisha."

She first joined Sony Pictures Entertainment in 1999 as vp media and was named senior vp in May 2003.

Before that, she was vp associate media director at Grey Entertainment, where she worked for seven years, managing the media operations for Warner Bros. Pictures.
