The renowned New York–based lensman is perhaps best known for his work with Madonna, as well as his dark, often seductive or dangerous-feeling editorials for glossies like Vogue, i-D and W. We expect nothing less of the forthcoming limited-edition, 23-piece collection, which Nars asked him to create for the holiday season.

"Steven is one of the most disruptive, fearless photographers of his time," says Nars, himself a respected photographer, in the announcement of the NARS Steven Klein Holiday Collection launching in November. "I love his work — his ability to strip down and expose his subjects, to create shocking visual narratives that are never what they seem."

Like with previous Andy Warhol, Phillip Lim and Christopher Kane collections, it's safe to expect products and shades that represent Klein's unique, sometimes controversial approach to beauty. As for the packaging, Nars and Klein are collaborating with Fabien Baron of Baron & Baron to make sure it's both spontaneous and captivating. Like all of Klein's work, it's sure to make a splash.
