Nastassja Kinski to Be Honored at Romanian Film Festival
The actress and model will receive a lifetime achievement award at Transilvania IFF.
Nastassja Kinski will be a special guest at the Transilvania International Film Festival, Romania's leading film showcase next month.
The actress — famed for roles in films by directors that include Roman Polanski, Wim Wenders, Francis Ford Coppola and David Lynch, will attend a screening of 1984 Cannes Golden Palm winner Paris, Texas, in which she starred alongside Harry Dean Stanton, and hold a master class at the fest's talent lab.
The German-born actress, whose career was launched in 1978 with Italian-Spanish romance Stay As You Are, where she played the young lover of Marcello Mastroianni's father figure, before gaining international fame for her titular role in Tess, Polanski's 1979 adaptation of British novelist Thomas Hardy's classic Tess of the d'Urbrevilles.
Two years ago, after her half sister Pola Kinski revealed sexual abuse by their father, actor Klaus Kinski, Nastassja said the German actor, who died in 1991, had also attempted to abuse her but she had fought him off.
She will receive a Special Award for the Contribution to the World Cinema at the fest's closing ceremony on June 6.
