Who's ready to be a #GIRLBOSS?
Nasty Gal founder and CEO Sophia Amoruso is happily expanding on her hashtag with a book, beginning with its newly revealed cover. The fashion e-commerce expert first announced her book deal for #GIRLBOSS last September.
The new tome chronicles Amoruso's journey from trying to make ends meet by selling vintage finds on eBay to establishing Nasty Gal, one of the fastest-growing online fashion retailers in the U.S. The fashion e-tailer has grown from a one-woman operation to a company with more than 300 employees. Recently spotted in the Nasty Gal's line of party-ready dresses was singer Christina Milian at OK! magazine's pre-Grammys party.
According to a release, #GIRLBOSS is not a how-to manual for making it big in the fashion industry or starting a company; instead, the book focuses on "how to learn from your own mistakes, play to your strengths, and know when to follow the rules and when to rewrite them."
Amoruso also has plans to open Nasty Gal's first brick-and-mortar, which she announced via Twitter last November.
#GIRLBOSS (Portfolio/Putnam; $26.95) will be available on May 6, but eager fans can pre-order the book here.
