The National Geographic Society has announced a reorganization of its communications division, headed by executive vp Betty Hudson.

Hudson oversees strategic communications and public relations across NGS and its subsidiaries, including magazines, books, licensing, mission program activities and NG Ventures, which includes television, film and digital media.

As part of the restructuring, two new vps have been appointed: Ellen Stanley, vp communications, Ventures; Mimi Koumanelis vp communications, mission programs.

The duo, who were directors of communications, joins Mary Jeanne Jacobsen, vp communications and media operations, and Kathie Teter, vp communications, special projects.
