The second annual Reality Breakthrough Awards pick five series — and snub broadcast.

The ever more reality-reliant NATPE conference and market celebrated its second annual kudos for the genre on Tuesday in Miami. The Reality Breakthrough Awards honored five series, and every one of them came from cable.

Winning best competition series was History show Alone, while the straight-up reality format went to Discovery standby Naked and Afraid. TruTV's unconventional quiz-and-challenge affair Billy on the Street was named best game show, and USA's Chrisley Knows Best was tapped as top docusoap.

Nearly a year after its premiere, HBO's The Jinx won perhaps its last honor of its awards tour in taking the factual category. Winners were announced at a Howie Mandel-hosted luncheon and picked by a blue-ribbon panel of network executives.

It's not the last awards to be handed out at this year's NATPE. Wednesday's Brandon Tartikoff Legacy Awards will honor Steve Harvey, Doug Herzog, Quincy Jones, Sophie Turner Laing and Norman Lear.
