NBC Hiring Chip Sullivan in Top PR Post (Exclusive)
Sullivan, who is set to become executive vice president communications at NBC Entertainment, is a longtime confidant of Jeffrey Katzenberg and close to Steven Spielberg.
NBC is looking to a longtime Jeffrey Katzenberg confidant to head up its West Coast corporate communications group, sources tell The Hollywood Reporter.
Chip Sullivan, who works at DreamWorks Animation and is close to Katzenberg and Steven Spielberg, will soon shift to NBC as chairman Robert Greenblatt's top PR executive.
Sullivan will replace Richard Licata, Greenblatt's longtime PR exec who exited NBC last fall.
In his new position, Sullivan will be executive vice president communications at NBC Entertainment and report directly to Greenblatt.
In a statement Greenblatt said: "I'm overjoyed that Chip Sullivan will be coming to NBC. He is one of the brightest, most innovative and most highly regarded communications experts I've ever known, and his legendary tenure at DreamWorks puts him in a unique position to bring great vision and a fresh perspective to our programming and our leadership team. He's at the top of his field, and NBC Entertainment will be the beneficiary of all that he's accomplished."
Sullivan leaves DreamWorks, a company he has worked for, in all its guises, for nearly 20 years. He joined the company in 1995 as head of special projects and worked on award-winning films such as Saving Private Ryan, American Beauty, Gladiator and Shrek. Most recently, Sullivan has been working as the head of global brand integration and publicity for DreamWorks Animation.
