The NBC Owned Television Stations division of NBCUniversal has promoted Meredith McGinn to senior vp at COZI TV Network and LX.TV Productions and Jeff Kurtz to senior vp digital media and multicast sales.
Both were in vp roles.
McGinn joined the NBC Owned Television Stations division in October 2011, leading the development and launch of COZI TV. Since the network’s official launch at the beginning of this year, COZI TV has grown significantly and is now available in 47.5 million homes, or 42 percent of the country, with nearly 40 affiliates.
McGinn’s role includes overseeing all creative, editorial and business aspects of COZI TV as well as the production company, LX.TV, that produces weekly lifestyle programs, including George to the Rescue, 1st Look, Open House andTalk Stoop, which air on COZI TV and on NBC stations across the country and are nationally and internationally syndicated.
COZI TV also airs classic TV shows including Bionic Woman, Magnum, P.I. andThe Six Million Dollar Man as well as hit movies and original programming.
“Over the last year-and-a-half, Meredith has done a tremendous job growing COZI TV from a concept into a successful network that is receiving great feedback from both viewers and affiliates,” said Valari Staab, president of NBC Owned Television Stations, to whom McGinn reports. “This well-deserved promotion reflects COZI TV’s success to date as well as its exciting future under Meredith’s leadership.”
Before taking on her role at COZI TV, McGinn was director of news and content at NBC 4 New York/WNBC. Before that, she was a senior producer at MSNBC.
Kurtz started with the NBC Owned Television Stations group in July 2012, overseeing all sales-related activities for COZI TV, LX.TV Productions and the digital media and digital out-of-home platforms, which include taxi cabs, gas stations and PATH trains.
In his newly expanded role, Kurtz will also assume responsibilities for the digital advertising operations and sales fulfillment teams for the NBC Owned Television Station sites.
“Jeff has made a big impact since joining the team a year ago and is a key player in growing our multiplatform businesses,” said Frank Comerford, chief revenue officer of NBC Owned Television Stations, to whom Kurtz reports. “We’re excited he has agreed to take on an even larger role by leading our digital advertising operations and sales fulfillment teams for our station sites.”
Before coming to NBC, Kurtz was president of Zebrafish Technologies, a web-based platform designed for ownership transitions of small and medium-sized businesses. Previously, he worked at Turner Broadcasting for more than a decade, most recently as vp and general sales manager of content sales/business development for the CNN Newsgroup, where he primarily focused on CNN.com partnerships.
He will be relocating to the New York area.
