NBC Sports, SI team on Web content

NEW YORK -- NBCSports.com is set to announce today a partnership with Sport Illustrated's SI.com that will give their users access to some of one another's content.

The deal will boost NBCSports.com's content with print and video as well as SI.com's "Truth & Rumors" column. SI.com also will have broadband video, including some produced by NBC featuring its own writers.

The multiyear deal is separate from anything else SI.com or NBCSports.com does and does not affect SI.com's partnership with Time Warner sibling CNN. Terms of the NBC-SI deal weren't disclosed.

It's not the first time that the two have collaborated. Sports Illustrated writer Peter King appeared as a regular contributor to NBC Sports' "Football Night in America." That and discussions around sharing led to this agreement, said Perkins Miller, senior vp digital media for NBC Sports & Olympics, on Friday.

It is likely there will be more daily NBCSports.com programming that will feature Sports Illustrated writers and editors soon.

"This gives a depth of content to our site that we didn't have before," Miller said.
