NBC Uni revamps London home ent. team
EmptyLONDON -- Universal Pictures International Entertainment, the international home entertainment division of NBC Universal, has made a number of new appointments to its London-based management team.
The changes, prompted by the resignation of Wayne Borg, executive vp commercial, who is relocating his family back to Australia at the end of the year, are led by the promotion of Melanie Nicholas to senior vp marketing.
Nicholas, formerly vp licensees and emerging markets, will add international marketing initiatives for home entertainment outside the U.S. to her current responsibilities for international licensees and Russia.
Egor Borisov, managing director of Universal Pictures Russia, will continue to report to her, as will Clare Edwards, who has been promoted to vp international licensees, responsible for all international home entertainment licensing activity.
Previously reporting to Borg, vp sales John Revill will now report directly to UPIE president Eddie Cunningham.
In his remaining time with UPIE -- through the end of 2007 -- Borg will drive high-definition strategy, particularly in respect of UPIE's commitment to HD-DVD, with key representation in the European HD DVD Group.
Pancho Perez is promoted to chief financial officer for UPIE, jointly reporting to Eddie Cunningham and Christy Rupert Shibata. Pancho succeeds Carlos Domenech, who is exiting the company to take up an external post in the U.S.
