Terence Carter has been promoted to vp drama programming at NBC Entertainment.

Carter, who will manage development and current series, will continue his work on the "Kings" pilot and the recently announced "Knight Rider" series. He also will continue shepherding the "Fear Itself" anthology.

"Terence's extensive background and great instincts have made him an integral part of the department," said senior vp drama programming Katie O'Connell, to whom Carter will report.

Before his promotion, Carter had been director of drama development since March 2007 and before that was director of comedy development for two years.
