NBC's Vivi Zigler Lands at Shine America
She'll oversee branded entertainment, licensing, digital and live experiences as president of Shine 360° and digital.
After 19 years at NBC, Vivi Zigler is heading to Shine America.
The executive has been tapped president of Shine 360° and Digital at Shine America, where she'll oversee all branded entertainment, licensing, digital and live experiences.
"Vivi is an innovative and dynamic leader with extraordinary multiplatform experience that makes her the ideal person to lead both our Shine 360° and digital businesses,” said Shine America CEO Carl Fennessy. “She has the vision and expertise to develop our brands and content into true 360-degree experiences and will add a whole new dimension to our executive team.”
Zigler, who departed NBCUniversal in June, will help formally launch Shine 360° stateside. The global commercial and rights management division of Shine Group launched in 2010 with offices in Sydney, Paris, London and Stockholm and is responsible for developing the company's brands across sponsorship and advertiser partnerships, digital and interactive, retail and consumer products as well as live experiences.
"I've been involved in stations, networks, cable, digital, marketing, brand work and current programming, and for me this was the perfect place to bring it all together," Zigler told The Hollywood Reporter. "Shine is an interesting company in a lot of ways, but one in particular was a huge draw for me was it's a company that thinks multiplatform, multidiscipline. They use all the crayons in the box. They don't leave anything off the list when they first start brainstorming a creative proposition, whether that's for television or whether that's an original piece for the web or mobile. That to me is really important because those touch points are critical to the audience."
Before coming to Shine, Zigler was president of NBCUniversal Digital Entertainment, where she oversaw the digital and consumer products team and helped develop the NBCUniversal Digital Studio. Before 2005, the exec had key roles in NBC Entertainment's current programs, marketing and advertising units.
"With Vivi's appointment, we look to build upon our already impressive results in developing great brands that live and breathe across multiple territories and platforms," Shine 360° CEO Ben Liebmann said.
Added Shine America president Eden Gaha: "One of the things Shine believes in most is attracting the best talent on- and offscreen, and I think Vivi is a rare breed kind of talent. We've got a big ambition here, we want to create great content across multiple genres and multiple platforms, and Vivi is a top-line executive who has the experience, the knowledge, the ambition and the drive to do just that for us.
Zigler left NBCU in June after NBC Entertainment chief Robert Greenblatt brought in his former Showtime colleague Robert Hayes as executive vp digital media, with the unit now under his purview.
