NBCU has strategy for Blangiardi
EmptyBarbara Blangiardi has been promoted to senior vp strategic marketing at NBC Universal, where she will lead a centralized marketing team that will develop innovative programs for advertisers that identify ways to target consumers and further brand goals, the company said.
"With over 20 years of experience in marketing and television, in her we have someone who knows how to build teams, work across the entire company and generate fresh ideas for NBCU's valued customers and consumers," said Beth Comstock, president of NBC Universal Digital Media and Market Development.
The strategic marketing team will combine the partnership efforts that have been led by Blangiardi within the NBC Agency with the corporate marketing team while adding new innovation resources.
Blangiardi developed a partnership with Netflix for viewer sampling; she created a national promotion for "Heroes" that united Nissan, National CineMedia and Apple's iTunes; and she launched a 50-market grassroots campaign for "Friday Night Lights" in partnership with Toyota.
Blangiardi joined NBC Universal in 1999 as vp account services and was named vp marketing and special projects in 2001.
