NBCUniversal International TV Production Arm Names Sarah Cooper COO
The current COO of BBC Worldwide will be tasked with further establishing the business as a destination for content creators outside the U.S.
LONDON -- NBCUniversal International Television Production has appointed current BBC Worldwide COO Sarah Cooper to the newly created post of COO of the international TV production unit of the Comcast-controlled entertainment conglomerate.
Based in London, Cooper will report to Michael Edelstein, president of NBCUniversal International Television Production, and focus on further strengthening the business as a destination for content creators outside the U.S. The appointment is effective March 11.
Cooper will have day-to-day responsibility for business and legal affairs, human resources, finance, merchandising and licensing, as well as format sales. NBCUniversal International Television has focused on expanding by establishing new ventures and striking creative and strategic partnerships.
"Sarah Cooper is one of the most outstanding and respected executives in the business, and we are delighted that she has joined our growing team," Edelstein said. "She has a vast array of international experience and will be an invaluable asset as we continue to build NBCU International Television Production into the premier destination for content creators working outside the United States."

Cooper has been COO and deputy CEO of BBC Worldwide. She also served as director of business affairs at BBC Worldwide.
