NBCUniversal Sells 'Minute to Win It' to Vietnam
It is the format’s fourth Asian version after Malaysia, India and South Korea.
NBCUniversal has sold its successful Minute to Win It format to Vietnam where it will air on broadcaster HTV7.
Minute to Win It Vietnam is produced by Cattiensa Company, the company said. HTV7 has commissioned 52 episodes.
It is the format’s fourth Asian version after Malaysia, India and South Korea.
Overall, the hit format, launched on NBC in 2010, has seen more than 40 versions produced around the world. It recently launched in local versions in Armenia and West Africa, among others.
Competitors on the show face up to 10 challenges involving everyday items that escalate in terms of difficulty and prize money.
"Minute to Win It is truly a global phenomenon and one of the biggest formats of the past three years," said Yvonne Pilkington, senior vp, format sales & production. "Minute to Win It Vietnam is an example of the format’s continued longevity and strength in the gameshow genre. Minute is our second format sale in Vietnam this year, and our sales in Asia have gone from strength to strength."
