Neil Patrick Harris Reuniting With Original 'Assassins' Cast for One-Night-Only Benefit
Stephen Sondheim and John Weidman's Tony-winning musical explores the lives and motivations of the people who have killed or tried to kill U.S. presidents.
How I Met Your Mother star Neil Patrick Harris is reuniting with the original Broadway cast of the musical Assassins for a one-night-only benefit for the Roundabout Theater Company, according to Playbill.com.
Stephen Sondheim and John Weidman's dark musical explores the lives and motivations of the people who have killed or tried to kill U.S. presidents, including John Wilkes Booth, Lee Harvey Oswald and John Hinckley Jr.

The show won five Tonys, including best revival; best director for Joe Mantello; and best featured actor in a musical for Michael Cerveris, who played Booth.
Harris played Oswald in the original production.
In addition to Harris and Cerveris, the reunited cast will include Becky Ann Baker, James Barbour, Mario Cantone, Mary Catherine Garrison, Alexander Gemignani, Marc Kudisch, Jeffrey Kuhn and Denis O'Hare.
The performance, which will benefit Roundabout's Musical Theatre Program, is set for Dec. 3 at New York's Studio 54 and will again be directed by Mantello. Tickets go on sale Tuesday.
