Netflix Adds 18 Shows from Colombia’s Caracol
Announced during the Bogota Audiovisual Market, the deal includes worldwide hit 'Pablo Escobar, the Drug Lord.'
Caracol TV International, one of Colombia’s top networks, announced on Wednesday a deal with Netflix to include 18 of its most successful shows on the streaming service, for both U.S. and LatAm subscribers.
The list of shows includes Caracol’s worldwide hit Pablo Escobar, the Drug Lord, Colombia's most popular show ever, which sold to 50 countries and also became the first LatAm series to stream on iTunes. Shot entirely on location in an unprecedented production size for local standards, the cast was led by Andres Parra, as Escobar, and Colombian star Angie Cepeda (Wild Horses)
While several shows were available since early July, Caracol officially announced the deal on Wednesday, detailing other titles such as Fugitives, Men Cry Too, El Cartel and groundbreaking telenovela Without Breasts There Is No Paradise.
