New Home For Tokyo International Film Festival Contents Market
October’s TIFFCOM contents market to relocate to a new venue overlooking Tokyo Bay.
Tokyo International Film Festival (TIFF) will mark its 25th edition this year in October, while the accompanying TIFFCOM contents market relocates to a new venue overlooking Tokyo Bay.
The new venue for TIFFCOM is the Grand Pacific Le Daiba hotel in the futuristic Odaiba district. A shuttle bus service will ferry attendees to and from the Roppongi Hills festival venue during the market.
“The venue layout will be updated with zoning areas allocated according to categories such as film, television, animation, and film commission. We aim to make the space easy for walking around and doing business,” market director Mika Morishita told The Hollywood Reporter.
Market screening facilities will be expanded with a small screening room within the venue, as well as screenings at the nearby Cinema Mediage, according to Morishita.
“With the establishment of an Exhibitor Concierge, who will take care of the exhibitor companies’ needs, hospitality services for exhibitors will be improved,” added Morishita.
UniJapan and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, sponsors of TIFF and TIFFCOM, will be presenting an international panel for the ‘A meeting between producers: Simulating an international Co-Production’ event at the Studio space in the main hall at Filmart on Tuesday March 20, from 4.30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
TIFF organizers have yet to finalize plans to commemorate the 25th edition of the festival.
