New name for Heartland fest parent firm
The Heartland Film Festival has created a newly minted parent organization, Heartland Truly Moving Pictures. The move, announced by president and CEO Jeffrey Sparks, highlights the organization's industry award and watermark, the Heartland Truly Moving Picture Award, and also redefines its commitment to filmmakers, studios and distributors whose projects address challenging subjects yet provide meaningful story lines and resolution. The organization also will expand its festival programming, year-round marketing efforts and events as well as its "Finding Inspiration in Literature and Movies" project in association with the National Collaboration for Youth. The 2007 Heartland fest is set for Oct. 18-26 in Indianapolis.
