New 'Spider-Man' Star Tom Holland Joins Charlie Hunnam in 'Lost City of Z'
Sienna Miller and Robert Pattinson also star in the action-adventure film.
New Spider-Man star Tom Holland has signed on to join Charlie Hunnam, Sienna Miller and Robert Pattinson in action-adventure film The Lost City of Z.
Based on David Grann’s New York Times best-seller of the same name, Lost City of Z follows explorer Percival Fawcett, who disappeared on an expedition in the 1920s to find a mythical city in the Amazon jungles he believed he saw in a previous trek.
James Gray is directing the film, based on his own script. Production commenced on Aug. 19, with filming to be conducted in Belfast, Ireland, and Colombia throughout September and October.
MICA Entertainment is financing the project, which is produced by Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner via Plan B Entertainment, along with Anthony Katagas and Dale Armin Johnson. MadRiver Pictures’ Marc Butan is executive producing, as are MICA Entertainment’s Julie B. May and Glenn Murray.
Sierra Affinity is repping international sales of the title, with CAA overseeing domestic rights to the film.
Repped by WME Entertainment, Holland had previously starred in 2012's critical hit The Impossible and has been cast as Peter Parker/Spider-Man in Sony and Marvel's new franchise. His upcoming solo Spider-Man film, directed by Cop Car's Jon Watts, is set for a July 7, 2017, release.
