New Trailer for Nicholas Sparks' 'The Best of Me' Introduces Explosions and Gunplay
James Marsden and Michelle Monaghan co-star in the tearjerker, out Oct. 17
It wouldn't be a Nicolas Sparks adaptation without star-crossed lovers kept apart, not to mention the threat of potential violence. Sure enough, the newest trailer for The Best of Me has both in spades.
In the romantic drama, Dawson (James Marsden) and Amanda (Michelle Monaghan) fall in love while growing up but are then kept apart for 20 years after an incident involving a gun.
A near-fatal accident involving an explosion on an oil rig finally helps Dawson realize that he needs to rekindle things with Amanda. Unfortunately, it might be a bit too late.
Liana Liberato, Luke Bracey and Jon Tenney co-star. Michael Hoffman directed the film based on the Sparks best-seller.
The Best of Me hits theaters Oct. 17.
