New 'While We're Young' Trailer: Ben Stiller and Naomi Watts Hallucinate, Have Sobering Thoughts
Adam Driver, Amanda Seyfried and Beastie Boy Adam Horovitz co-star in the Noah Baumbach-directed film, which A24 is releasing on March 27.
Ben Stiller and Naomi Watts party and hallucinate with a younger couple before they make some sobering revelations in the latest trailer for A24's upcoming While We're Young.
The Noah Baumbach-directed film centers around a New York-based documentary filmmaker and his wife (Stiller and Watts), who begin hanging out with a couple in their 20s (Adam Driver and Amanda Seyfried).
When Stiller and Watts' Josh and Cornelia tell their friends (one of whom is played by Beastie Boy Adam Horovitz) about their younger pals, though, the other couple can't believe Josh and Cornelia would want to hang out with people who are only 26 or 27.
"Nine years ago, they couldn't vote," Horovitz's character says.
Later they're shown listening to "Eye of the Tiger," and Josh says he can remember when it "was just considered bad, but it's working."
They also head to a ceremony where, as Cornelia explains, "you drink this sludgy liquid and you hallucinate and vomit up your demons."
Ultimately, though, they come to some sad revelations. Cornelia wistfully remarks that she wishes Josh looked at her the way he looks at their new friends.
"When we first met, you wooed me with romantic emails," she says.
"It wouldn't make sense for me to send you emails now. We're in the same room all the time," he counters.
Meanwhile, Josh doubts how genuine Driver's character actually is and whether their friendship was part of some scheme.
A24 bought While We're Young, which Baumbach also scripted, after the film's Toronto premiere and will release it in select theaters on March 27.
