The two TV stars became close after working on the Warner Bros. film since their characters spend most of the movie stuck in a broken elevator together. Michele plays an aspiring singer who is on her way to perform at Times Square on the last night of the year. Kutcher plays a pessimistic comic book artist who is not a fan of New Year’s Eve.
THR asked Michele, who wore a stunning low-cut Versace gown to the premiere, about how she creates on-screen chemistry with someone she may not know very well, such as Kutcher.
FILM REVIEW: New Year's Eve
“I think it was really good in this movie that Ashton and I didn’t know each other because we were supposed to be strangers meeting in an elevator,” she told THR. “I think if we were playing two people who have known each other their whole lives we would have definitely worked hard to create a certain rapport with each other, but not knowing each other really helped with this film.”

Along with Kutcher and Michele, many of the other stars of the film walked the black carpet before the premiere including Hilary Swank, Zac Efron, Abigail Breslin, Josh Duhamel and Katherine Heigl. The film follows several intertwined lives of New York couples and singles as they try to make the most of the last day of the year.
Michele was also supported by her Glee castmates including Chris Colfer, Harry Shum Jr., Darren Criss and Kevin McHale who all attended the premiere.

Michele had nothing but nice things to say about her co-star, Kutcher. “He’s an incredibly smart guy and he’s so sweet,” said Michele, who added that she thought Kutcher was going a great job on the show.
