New York Foundation for the Arts Hall of Fame Inducts Four
The latest inductees are Acquavella Gallery co-director Michael Findlay, composer Elliot Goldenthal, filmmaker Mira Nair and visual artist Fred Wilson.
The New York Foundation for the Arts honored four people Tuesday for their contributions to New York City's cultural community.
The NYFA inducted into its hall of fame co-director of the Acquavella Gallery Michael Findlay, composer Elliot Goldenthal, filmmaker Mira Nair and visual artist Fred Wilson. The ceremony was held at Espace in New York. The gala was attended by supporters of the arts including Julie Taymor and opera singer Jessye Norman, who presented Goldenthal with his honor.
The NYFA Hall of Fame honors artists whom the foundation supported in their early careers as well as philanthropists and patrons of the arts. The NYFA was founded in 1971 and has given more than $30 million to artists and organizations.
