Newlyweds Gene Simmons And Shannon Tweed Support Canadian Animal Shelter
The KISS frontman and his forever girlfriend have asked for donations in lieu of wedding gifts to be made to the SPCA in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
TORONTO -- Reality TV star Shannon Tweed unveiled a novel gift registry on friends and family when she tied the knot with Gene Simmons in Beverly Hills on the weekend.
Tweed asked for donations to be made to the SPCA in her native Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
The city’s SPCA on its website said that, rather than offer wedding gifts, “Shannon and Gene have asked guests and well-wishers to make donations,” reportedly to upgrade the animal shelter’s kennels and medical facilities.
And those giving over $100 will be included in a gift book to be “delivered to the happy couple.”
The Canadian Press newswire service reports donations are pouring into the Prairie town’s SPCA, and stood at $5,700 on Monday afternoon.
Tweed, 54, grew up in Newfoundland, but went to high school in Saskatoon.
Tweed and KISS frontman Simmons taped an episode of their reality TV show, Gene Simmons Family Jewels, in the Canadian city last year.
The latest season of the reality TV series debuts Tuesday on the A&E network.
