News Corp.'s Ginsberg adds global marketing duties

NEW YORK – News Corp. communications maestro Gary Ginsberg has been given the additional responsibilities of head of global marketing and has been appointed to the Office of the Chairman as the conglomerate plans a renewed global marketing push.

Previously executive vp for investor relations and corporate communications, Ginsberg, 45, will assume the new title of executive vp of global marketing and corporate affairs.

In his expanded role, he will coordinate the marketing efforts of the media conglomerate, led by chairman and CEO Rupert Murdoch, around the world. He will also continue to direct News Corp.’s corporate affairs, including investor and media relations, community outreach and philanthropic programs. He reports to Murdoch, as well as president and COO Peter Chernin and CFO David DeVoe.

“Gary’s energy and integrity have helped to expand and improve the company’s communications with investors, the press and community groups in recent years,” said Murdoch. “His creative leadership and extensive knowledge of our operations worldwide perfectly position him to lead a renewed focus on marketing our brands and assets globally.”

The Office of the Chairman comprises Murdoch, Chernin, DeVoe, general counsel Lon Jacobs, deputy CFO John Nallen and Fox News Channel, Fox Television Stations and Twentieth Television chairman Roger Ailes.
